Today I want to share my recent investment experience in the US stock market. Yesterday, I decided to buy put options for Figma, which is a relatively conservative strategy. However, I also purchased shares of China Eastern Airlines (CEA), and this decision made me deeply regretful. The performance of CEA was disappointing, leading to a rapid fall of 20% in the value of my investment portfolio, bringing my total assets back down to 1.6 million.
At first, I mistakenly thought that CEA's issuance of 500 million dollars was to purchase Binance Coin (BNB), and this assumption was clearly wrong. In fact, this was a direct stock issuance, and this misunderstanding led to my judgment error.
This experience made me realize how important it is to fully understand a company's financing plans and the use of funds in investment decisions. At the same time, it reminds us to be cautious of market rumors and to conduct thorough due diligence.
Although this loss is frustrating, it has also provided me with valuable learning experience. In the financial markets, the accuracy and timeliness of information often determine the success or failure of investments. In the future, I will be more cautious and ensure that I obtain more comprehensive and accurate information before making investment decisions.
This experience once again proves the importance of portfolio diversification. Being overly concentrated in a single stock or strategy can pose significant risks. Moving forward, I will reevaluate my investment strategy and strive to build a more balanced and robust portfolio.
Despite this setback, I still have confidence in the US stock market. The market is always full of opportunities and challenges; the key is to learn from each experience and continuously improve one's investment wisdom.
